Research is
about learning to use data to increase student performance. It allows us to adjust our instruction,
become better teachers and positively impact the students and our school. Research and data today are vital tools for
keeping teachers on the cutting edge.
The data shows where we are successful and where we may need to make
changes. It allows us to flow and adapt
to each student. It helps us make
ourselves valuable by our own growth and personal development. Change may not always be easy but it may be
necessary. Research allows us to
explore, see and know what is required to really live up to the statement that
we believe every child can learn.
Noemi,
ReplyDeleteAnalyzing data may not sound exciting, but it's probably one of the most valuable tools to pinpoint areas for growth. Clearly what you end up doing with the data is what counts!
I like the phrasing you used- that research will "make ourselves valuable by our own growth and personal development". I think that is a great way of saying that we benefit from our own research. So many times we may be looking outward, which is great, but the benefits will also be within ourselves. Thank you for making that point.
